Suffolk police are investigating a robbery that occurred on Beaver Lane on Friday.

The victim advised he was in the 200 block of Beaver Lane to loan a friend $20, city spokeswoman Debbie George said.

The man said he was sitting in his vehicle talking to his friend, who was outside the vehicle, when a black male came up and pulled him out of the vehicle by his throat.

The suspect then produced a handgun and robbed him, George said.
