To the editor:

I want to offer my sincere thanks to the Norfolk Naval Ship Yard Chapter of the Association of Superintendents for their donation of more than 50 gifts in support of Healthy Families of Suffolk and Isle of Wight.

The gifts collected were educational toys that were used to ensure as many of the children in the program as possible had a toy to open on Christmas morning.

Members of the Superintendent’s Association should be commended for the wonderful gifts collected during their Christmas charity drive. They went far beyond the expectations of what was asked of them.

Additional gifts were provided by local churches, as well as current and former staff of Sentara Obici Hospital and the Suffolk Health Department.

Healthy Families Suffolk and Isle of Wight is a non-profit organization that supports new families from the birth of their child until 3 to 5 years old.

Once again, thank you all for your generous gifts.
