Nansemond-Suffolk Academy swept the competition, winning every single event in a swim meet against Peninsula Catholic and Veritas Christian Academy at the Suffolk YMCA Kenyon Facility on NSA’s Senior Day.

NSA defeated PC by a total score of 126-31 and VCA 132-19.

“I think it went very well,” NSA coach Karen Norman said. “[We] had some great times. Some kids qualified for states. It was a good meet.”

Gabrielle Bishop posted victories by margins of as much as 15 seconds. When asked if this was unusual, Norman said, “Well, not for Gabrielle.”

Bishop won the 100-yard Butterfly by more than 17 seconds and the 100-yard backstroke by nearly 15 seconds.

Together with Emily Neuburg, Laura Wild and Meredith Davis, Bishop helped power the Saints to a 3:51.92 time in the 400-yard freestyle relay — more than two minutes faster than the closest competition.

The NSA boys team was also very strong. Greg Beale, Ben Wilson and Matt Lee all registered two individual wins apiece.

During an intermission, Coach Norman gave special recognition to the seniors on the team.
