Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s girls basketball team had little trouble against Bishop Sullivan Catholic on Tuesday, winning their second contest against the Crusaders 48-24 for a sweep against the Virginia Beach team this year.
The win left the Lady Saints with a 16-3 overall record, 4-0 in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools, heading into Thursday’s game on the road against Cape Henry.
The boys’ team also repeated in Tuesday night’s game against Bishop Sullivan, finishing with an 82-33 loss, marginally better than its 82-27 performance against the larger and faster Crusaders just a couple of weeks ago.
Leading scorer for the Saints was Breon Willie, who scored 12 points.
The loss dropped NSA’s boys to 5-14 overall and 1-2 in conference play. They were scheduled to face Cape Henry on the road on Thursday.
