A captain with the Suffolk Department of Fire and Rescue was arrested Tuesday and charged with felonious assault in relation to an alleged domestic assault that occurred Dec. 31.
Fire Capt. James Deitz, 45, is being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond following his arrest, according to Suffolk spokeswoman Debbie George.
Deitz was arrested Tuesday afternoon following an investigation into an assault that was reported Feb. 27, in which the victim, a 32-year-old female, received a broken nose, George stated in a press release.
