It is time once again for two spring events that Suffolk foodies live for — Restaurant Week and the debut of the Suffolk Farmers’ Market.

Restaurant Week showcases Suffolk eateries with three-course, fixed-price menus at each of the 10 participating restaurants. The spring Restaurant Week is set for March 17-24.

Two price levels are offered at the restaurants — deluxe, which costs $10 for lunch and $20 for dinner, or premier, which costs $15 for lunch and $30 for dinner.

Menus, hours of operation and other details are posted online at www.Suffolk-Fun.com/restaurantweek.

In May, the Farmers’ Market will start back up in a new location.

Since the summer of 2005, the Farmers’ Market has been a popular location for locally grown fruits and vegetables, baked goods, organically raised poultry, fresh eggs, milk and honey and a variety of handmade goods.

This year, the market will move to a new location at the special events pavilion behind the Suffolk Visitor Center at 524 N. Main St.

The market will be open May 19 through Nov. 17 from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, 4 to 7 p.m. on Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. It is free and open to the public and also hosts a variety of activities such as entertainers, petting zoos, book singings, workshops and more.

Participation as a vendor is open to regional producers within a 100-mile radius of Suffolk. For more information about becoming a vendor, call 514-4130.
