‘Wrong is wrong’

To the editor:
A few months ago, Suffolk City Manager Selena Cuffee-Glenn stated that many workers on the city’s payroll are being paid below the national poverty level. Some city workers got or will get, if I remember correctly, a 1-percent to 3-percent pay raise spread out over the next few years.
The same city manager, who was already making more than $100,000 a year, just got a 14-percent pay raise, per her request.
The workers’ was raise passed by the previous City Council, while the city manager’s 14-percent raise was approved by the new City Council.
The different levels raises approved by the two councils just don’t add up. Right is right and wrong is wrong, either way you look at it.
