Suffolk police are investigating a drowning in the Cedar Point community.

A 44-year-old woman was pronounced deceased when medical personnel arrived at the home in the 8900 block of River Crescent, responding to an emergency call that was received at 8:47 p.m. Friday.

No further information was available Friday night.
