C.E. Falk picked up his third and fourth victories of the season in the Smithfield Foods Twin 75s for the Late Model Stock Cars class, the featured events of Saturday evening’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series program at Langley Speedway.

In the opener, Falk moved out front on the white-flag circuit to score an unlikely win. Nick Smith started on the pole, at 91.090 mph, and led 69 of the 75 laps.

Nearing the finish, Smith was up by four lengths over Falk and seemed to be on the way to an easy win. Exiting Turn 2 on lap 75, Smith dropped completely off the pace, and Falk flashed past, driving on to his third victory of the season.

Casey Wyatt, Mark Wertz, Dean Shiflett and Wes Falk completed the top five, while Smith ended up 12th. The event was a hard-hitting affair, slowed by eight caution flags.

Falk required no late-race dramatics in the nightcap as he led from pole to checkers to finish the sweep. Greg Edwards started seventh, took over second on lap 34 and tailed Falk to the end, finishing nearly half a straightaway behind.

Dude Gibbs was third, while Wes Falk and Wertz came home fourth and fifth, respectively.
