City, schools to hold joint meeting

City Council and the School Board will hold a joint meeting this week to discuss shared concerns regarding the educational system.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Aug. 14 in the City Council chambers, 441 Market St.
The agenda includes the educational vision for the city, roles of the council and school board, school system employee benefits, facility needs and planning, student achievement and funding.
Particular areas of discussion will include a comparison of school employee benefits to other localities, growth trends, shared services and communication between the two bodies.
