A nonsuit has been ordered in a court case involving the alleged over-assessment of residential properties off Pitchkettle Road by the city of Suffolk, but the plaintiff says an agreement has not been reached.
Ainslie Group claimed about 71 parcels around Pitchkettle Estates and Pitchkettle Farms, the site of Homearama in 2006, were over-assessed, requesting a refund of about $100,000, plus interest, on taxes paid between July 2007 and June 2011, according to court records.
A trial had been set for Monday before the nonsuit was issued last month. Developer Jeff Ainslie said an agreement with the city has not been reached and negotiations are continuing.
