Man injured in stabbing

Suffolk police round up their work at the Pine Street location of a stabbing that occurred early Wednesday morning. A 23-year-old man was injured, and a 34-year-old man has been arrested.

Suffolk police round up their work at the Pine Street location of a stabbing that occurred early Wednesday morning. A 23-year-old man was injured, and a 34-year-old man has been arrested.

A Suffolk man has been charged with malicious wounding and stabbing after police say he injured a 23-year-old man early Wednesday morning.

Emergency dispatchers were contacted at 4:18 a.m. advising that the victim, Kendell Thompson, of the 200 block of Jackson Street, had been stabbed on Pine Street. He then walked to Jackson Street to seek assistance and was later airlifted by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of injuries that were not believed life-threatening.

The SWAT team was called out and secured the premises at the Pine Street address.

Jonathan Lamont Jackson, 34, of the 200 block of Pine Street, was charged after interviews of several individuals who reside at the house where the incident occurred.

Detective C. Gonzalez is the lead investigator. The incident remains under investigation.
