Heavy rains close roads

The following roads in Suffolk are currently experiencing high water as a result of Thursday’s heavy rains, according to city officials:
- North Main Street remains closed at the Kimberly Bridge
- Bank Street at Commerce Street
- East Constance Road between North Main Street and Katherine Street
- Henley Place at West Washington Street
- West Washington Street at Saratoga Street
- County Street at Dill Road
- Nixon Drive between Sierra Drive and Spencer Court
- Spruce Street and Mill Street
- S. 6th Street and Lake Kennedy Drive
Additionally, the Suffolk Division of Emergency Management advises that a coastal flood warning remains in effect for the city until 8 a.m. Friday. The next high tide for the Nansemond River at North Main Street in the Kimberly Bridge area will be at 2:15 a.m. Flooding is expected.
