The driver of a Honda SUV was pronounced dead at the scene after a Friday evening crash on Holland Road.

Witnesses saw the SUV speeding and weaving in and out of traffic before it collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer on the westbound side of the road about 5:52 p.m., according to a city press release.

The driver has been identified as John Thomas Knox, 28. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, according to the press release.

After the accident, a detour was put in place along Buckhorn Drive for westbound traffic. However, a tractor-trailer ran off the road into a ditch along the detour, which caused traffic to revert to alternating eastbound and westbound on Holland Road.

There were no injuries in the secondary accident, according to the press release.
