Isaacs wins re-election

UPDATED 9:38 p.m.: Incumbent Sheriff Raleigh Isaacs Sr. has won re-election over two challengers, according to results from the State Board of Elections. He took 48 percent of the votes, compared to Jen Pond’s 40 percent and Aaron Johnson’s 11 percent.

UPDATED 9:27 p.m.: Only five precincts are left to report, and incumbent Sheriff Raleigh Isaacs Sr. still holds a lead over challenger Jen Pond. Isaacs has 46 percent of the vote, compared to 42 percent for Pond. Challenger Aaron Johnson has 11.7 percent.

UPDATED 9:21 p.m.: With 21 of 28 precincts now reporting their vote tallies, incumbent Sheriff Raleigh Isaacs Sr. looks assured of re-election.

He has nearly 46.5 percent of votes cast so far, with challenger Jen Pond coming in at 41.37 percent. Aaron Johnson has grabbed more than 12 percent of the ballots so far.

UPDATED 9:06 p.m.: With 16 of 28 precincts now in, incumbent Sheriff Raleigh Isaacs Sr. has 46 percent of the vote, compared to 41 percent for challenger Jen Pond and 13 percent for challenger Aaron Johnson.

UPDATED 9 p.m.: Twelve of Suffolk’s 28 precincts have now reported, and incumbent Raleigh Isaacs Sr. is still in the lead with 45.5 percent to Jen Pond’s 41.3 percent.

Another challenger, Aaron Johnson, trails behind with 13.3 percent.

UPDATED 8:46 p.m.: With nine of 28 precincts reporting, incumbent Raleigh Isaacs remains in the lead with 44.6 percent, compared to challenger Jen Pond’s 42 percent.

Second challenger Aaron Johnson has taken 13.4 percent of the vote so far.

UPDATED 8:36 p.m.: One more precinct reporting, for seven total, has edged incumbent Raleigh Isaacs’ lead to 45.67 percent, compared to Jen Pond’s 43.33 percent. The difference in the vote tally is a scant 140 votes.

UPDATED 8:25 p.m.: With six precincts in, challenger Jennifer Pond is coming closer to the incumbent.

Pond has 42.66 percent of the vote, compared to Raleigh Isaacs’ 45.48 percent.

UPDATED 8:22 p.m.: With two of the city’s 28 precincts — Airport and Whaleyville — reporting, incumbent Sheriff Raleigh Isaacs Sr. is beating his competition.

He has 54 percent of the vote in those two precincts, compared to 37 percent for his closest challenger, Jennifer Pond.

Aaron Johnson has more than 8.5 percent of the vote.
