Junior midfielder Kelsey Smither of the Old Dominion University field hockey team was recently one of three Lady Monarchs named to the All-Big East Conference First Team.

She contributed 11 assists during the course of a regular season in which Old Dominion won a share of the Big East regular season title and finished the season on an 11-game win streak, which featured seven shutouts.

The Lady Monarchs lost in the Big East tournament championship game, but Smither’s play during the tournament netted her a spot on the All-Big East Tournament team.
