Time for a tree

Deck the halls and help a good cause this Christmas season.
If you’re not eager to drag that tired, dusty, plastic tree out of the attic or choose from among the needle-less hordes at a big chain store, the Knights of Columbus Suffolk Council 7363 has just the thing for you.
The club once again will offer 6- to 10-foot, fresh-cut Fraser firs at its lot at 2432 Pruden Blvd., in the parking lot of Line-X of Suffolk and Sherwin Williams. The trees are mechanically cleaned, individually baled and priced based on size and grade.
Sales start today, though Thanksgiving has not yet passed. The holiday is so late this year that the club wanted to get started early.
Mike Bibbo said the tree sales will help support local clubs and organizations as well as scholarships, medical equipment for those in need and the intellectually challenged.
“We’re a Catholic organization, but most of our charities are actually non-Catholic,” Bibbo said. “We’re a men’s fraternal organization that gives back to the community of Suffolk. Come buy a tree.”
The lot will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 3 to 9 p.m. Fridays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays until they’re all gone. Come early to ensure you get a tree — they go quickly.
