A Suffolk man faces multiple charges in connection with an alleged rape following his arrest this week.

Dennis Bernard West, 49, was arrested Wednesday and charged with rape, forcible sodomy, object sexual penetration, indecent liberties with a child by a custodian and aggravated sexual battery, according to Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink.

The charges stem from a series of incidents that took place with a 16-year-old between September and December, Klink stated in an email.

West is being held without bond at Western Tidewater Regional Jail, Klink added.
