Windsor Town Manager Michael Stallings and Mayor Carita Richardson both confirmed Thursday that there’s an ongoing criminal investigation into Arlis “Vic” Reynolds, the town’s former chief of police, The Tidewater News reported Friday.
Reynolds was fired the morning of Dec. 21. No explanation was given, because it was a personnel matter, according to Richardson.
Stallings also confirmed that the Virginia State Police and Attorney General’s Office are the investigating agencies. No criminal charges have been lodged.
Richardson verified the town officials have not yet received any requests — formal or otherwise — for records pertaining to the former police chief.
First Sgt. R.D. Riddle is leading the police department.
