Downtown drivers will encounter detours this week as they try to move from place to place.

The 100 block of West Washington Street will be closed to through traffic Jan. 13-31 so contractors can make the necessary water and sewer connections as part of the Monument Construction lofts project. The Department of Public Utilities also will investigate and repair existing sewer infrastructure serving the buildings on the north side of West Washington Street to minimize future closures.

In addition, the interior lanes of North Main Street between Western Avenue and Mahan Street will be closed Jan. 13-21, also for sewer work.
