Suffolk Public Schools’ Friday sporting events have been called off following the announcement that the schools will be closed for the day due to the weather.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s girls’ basketball home game against Cape Henry Collegiate School on Friday has been postponed, according to NSA athletic director Betty Jean Riddick. It has been rescheduled for 4 p.m. on Feb. 7 at Cape Henry. It will be followed at 5:30 p.m. by the boys’ road game against Cape Henry, postponed from Thursday.

Suffolk Christian Academy will also be closed on Friday and all sporting events have been called off. All homecoming activities scheduled for Saturday were still on as of Thursday evening, including the boys’ basketball game against Veritas Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m.
