Julian Fields Mayo Sr.

On Feb. 4, 2014, Julian Fields Mayo Sr., 87, an ordained minister of the Eastern Virginian Conference of the IPHC for 50 years, passed on to his Heavenly reward by natural causes.

At the time of his departure, he was at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Littleton, N.C. A native of Beaufort County, N.C., he was the son of the late William Lee Mayo and Julia Fields Flowers Mayo. He was predeceased by his dear wife of more than 60 years, Gertrude Mayo, in 2009. and his youngest son, Ronald David Mayo Sr., in 2013. Julian was the youngest of four sisters and five brothers, all deceased.

He is survived by family members whom he loved: his son, Jay Mayo and wife, Shelah; his daughters, Gwen Mayo McCully and husband, David, and Cindy Mayo Young and husband, Roger; as well as 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Radiant Life Ministries, 100 Kilby Shores Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434 with the Rev. Norwood Starling and the Rev. Don Milner officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation prior to the service at the church from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the IPHC/World Missions, P.O.
