Following its recent move to an all-digital network, Charter Communications is doubling Internet speeds, boosting its high-definition channel lineup and rolling out a new top tier of services for customers in North Carolina and Virginia, company officials announced this week.
The new suite of digital services, titled Charter Spectrum, includes an increase in Internet speeds from 30 to 60 megabytes per second for most customers at no additional cost. Customers also gain access to more than 200 HD video channels and advanced voice services including unlimited nationwide calling.
“Charter is committed to improving the customer experience,” Charter President and CEO Tom Rutledge stated in a press release. “That starts by providing the best voice, TV and Internet services possible at the greatest value to our customers. Charter Spectrum represents the best of the best in our industry.”
Charter began its local move to an all-digital network earlier this month as part of $93 million in recent broadband infrastructure investment to its North Carolina operations.
By removing older analog signals from its network, company officials said, Charter freed bandwidth to be used for the service enhancements.
