Curtis White Sr., 64, of 515 Kissimmee Ave., Suffolk, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of Ida Belle Welch.

He was a member of New Temple Holiness of Deliverance and its male chorus.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Venora White; four daughters, Stephanie Golden (John), Wanda White, Jasmine Fields, all of Suffolk, and Vernicia Lawrence, of Franklin; six sons, Curtis White Jr., Calvin White, Quincy Baker (Atoya), Derrick White, all of Suffolk, Travis Cooke, of Greensville, and Nathaniel Shaw, of Suffolk; one sister, Audrey White, of Portsmouth; one brother, Thomas White, of Capron; 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two aunts, Bettye Goodman and Mary Wilkins, both of Suffolk; one uncle, William Wilkins, of Newark, N.J.; one adopted son, Morris Walker, of Thomasville, Ga.; a host of children who looked up to him as a father; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at New Paul’s Temple Holiness Church of Deliverance officiated by Pastor Catherine Skinner. Interment will be in Langston Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
