A 12-year-old student at John F. Kennedy Middle School has been suspended pending an expulsion hearing after allegedly being found in possession of an unloaded pellet gun, city and school officials said Tuesday.
Another student reported the item to the school resource officer as buses were departing the school on Monday, division spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw said in an email. The student’s bus was stopped and searched.
The incident remains under investigation, city spokesman Tim Kelley said.
