Utt honored by W&M

Jeremy Utt, president of the South of the James Alumni Chapter of The College of William and Mary Alumni Association, was surprised with a special award at the Chapter’s annual picnic held June 1 in the home of Dr. Lisa Fore-Arcand in Windsor.

Holdcraft said, “Jeremy Utt has demonstrated a commitment to remaining actively involved with William and Mary alumni organizations since beginning his professional career as an educator.”

Utt has served on the board of directors of the Wesley Foundation at the College of William and Mary since 2006, in addition to being an active member at his own church. His service has included chairing both the development committee and finance committee. Since 2012, he has served as the chairman of the board of directors.

Utt has also been an active member of the South of the James Chapter of The William and Mary Alumni Association, serving on the board of directors since 2007. He previously served as secretary and as chairman of the alumni book award committee, which involved presenting books about The College of William and Mary to selected area high school students.

Since 2013, he has served as the president of the chapter.

Utt earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees from William and Mary and has completed the credits necessary to receive the gifted education endorsement in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He also has made several presentations on mathematics education at conferences held at the college.

Utt has worked as an educator in Isle of Wight Public Schools and Hampton Public Schools. He also has been actively involved in the local education association at both locations. He also works part-time as an instructor at Huntington Learning Center in Chesapeake and previously held the same position at Huntington Learning Center in Williamsburg.
