The following Virginia Military Institute cadets were among the 680 cadets who were recently named to the dean’s list for the second semester of academic year 2013-14. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a cadet must have a term grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and no grade below C.

• Chase C. Montambo, a recent graduate from Suffolk, majored in history. Cadet Montambo’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Scott J. Montambo.
• Alexander G. Palagyi, a junior from Suffolk, is majoring in civil engineering. Cadet Palagyi’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. William A. Palagyi.
• Matthew D. Schmincke, a recent graduate from Smithfield, majored in international studies. Cadet Schmincke’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. Schmincke Jr.
