The Hampton Roads Realtors Association’s The Network is collecting non-perishable food items through July for Portsmouth-based nonprofit Oasis Social Ministry, which provides comprehensive services to the homeless and the less fortunate in Portsmouth, western Chesapeake and northern Suffolk.

Oasis’ Food Pantry provides emergency groceries to needy families and individuals; it also operates a program that provides and delivers monthly groceries to senior citizens who are shut-ins and living on fixed incomes.

In particular, the organization seeks canned meats and tuna, peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables and fruits, dried pasta and pasta sauces, and cereal.

The donations may be dropped off at HRRA headquarters at 638 Independence Parkway, Suite 100, in Chesapeake.

The Network (formerly called YPN, or Young Professionals Network) is a group of real estate professionals who strive to serve the community, to educate themselves on the latest technology and industry practices and to promote networking with fellow Realtors.
