PORTSMOUTH — Shirley Ripley Suter, 90, died July 18, 2014, in Bayside Health Care and Rehab, Virginia Beach. A native of Portsmouth, she was the widow of Lonnie E. Suter. Shirley was a secretary with Ecolochem. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and former member of Beech Grove United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Sarah S. Swager and husband, Gary; and son, John E. Suter, all of Virginia Beach.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21, at 1 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Stephanie Kimec. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
