Minister Benita Riddick Johnson died Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City, N.C. A wake will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mission of Hope Church, 787 Highway 158, Gates, NC 27937. A service will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014, at New Middle Swamp Missionary Baptist Church, 790 Middle Swamp Road, Corapeake, NC 27926. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
