The Suffolk DMV in the 200 block of Holladay Street was evacuated Thursday morning because of a smell of gas.

The odor was reported at 10:19 a.m. Firefighters who arrived four minutes later detected a “very slight” odor of gas, according to a city news release. They secured the gas line, evacuated the building and ventilated it.

Virginia Natural Gas responded to clear up the situation.
