Cavaliers lose to Tigers, then Grizzlies

The Lakeland High School golf team went 0-3 this week on the links but saw some consistency from some of its members.

Following Monday’s loss to Deep Creek High School, the Cavaliers faced Oscar Smith High School at Sleepy Hole Golf Course on Wednesday and fell 362-420.

Senior Jack Boswell ended up having the low score for Lakeland with a 99. Senior Blake Harris hit a 102, while sophomore James Whitley produced a 103, and senior Jacob Diggs hit a 116.

On Thursday, Grassfield High School prevailed 291-425 at Nansemond River Golf Club. Harris was able to bring his score down to 92, and Whitley held steady with a 103. Diggs registered a 114, and Boswell hit a 116.

Lakeland (0-5) returns to action on Monday at Cahoon Plantation Golf Club to face Indian River High School.
