Some of the best chili to be found in Suffolk will be at Lake Prince Woods retirement community on Sept. 12 at noon, during a chili cook-off to raise money for the community’s team in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Mike Williams of Baron’s Pub will face competition from Lake Prince Woods staff, as well as representatives from Home Instead Senior Services.

“Our Cupcake Wars fundraiser for Relay for Life was so successful we decided to try a different spin as a fundraiser for our Alzheimer’s Walk team,” said Judy Raymond, Lake Prince Woods’ executive director.

According to Denise Brown, resident services director, 11 residents are on the team and are looking forward to their second year of participating.

The chili cook-off is open to public.  Tickets are $5, and all proceeds go to the Lake Prince Woods Alzheimer’s Walk team.
