Art League sets juried show

The Suffolk Art League, in conjunction with the Suffolk Art Gallery, will hold its 2014 Annual Juried Exhibition at the Suffolk Art Gallery, from Nov. 1 to Dec. 19.

Original works in any medium are eligible. They must not have been previously exhibited at the Suffolk Art Gallery and should have been completed within the last two years.

Works must be delivered to the Suffolk Art Gallery on Oct. 26, from 1 to 4 p.m., or on Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Two-dimensional work must be framed and wired for hanging. There is an entry fee of $15 for Suffolk Art League members or $45 for non-members (which includes an individual membership).

The juror for 2014 is Emma Lou Martin. Martin has devoted herself to enriching the art community of Richmond. She majored in fine arts at Randolph Macon Woman’s College and graduated from the College of William and Mary. She is a Signature member of the Virginia Watercolor Society and has won awards in media such as pastel, printmaking, collage, oil and watercolor.

The Suffolk Art League will present $2,650 in awards, including a $500 First Place awards that also includes the opportunity to present a one-person show at the Suffolk Art Gallery in 2015.
