Claud Bradford Jordan, 82, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

He was born June 5, 1932, to the late Tipney B. Jordan Sr. and Amy B. Walker in what was then Nansemond County. Besides his parents, Claud was predeceased by seven siblings.

He was a graduate of East Suffolk High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1952. He retired from Navy communications as a receiving clerk. He was a devoted, dedicated and longtime staff member of T.E. Cooke Funeral Home. Claud was also a former Boy Scout Troop Leader.

He entered into holy matrimony to Goldie Brown Jordan on Aug. 2, 2009.

Claud was a member of First Baptist Church Mahan, where he served diligently as a trustee, a member of the male choir and mass choir and as past custodian.

Claud leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted and loving wife, Goldie B. Jordan; two brothers, David G. Jordan Sr. and Joseph Jordan (Peggy); three sisters, Mollie Jordan, Lealer Manley and Sylvia Battle; three brothers-in-law; seven sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

A visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a wake service from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at T.E. Cooke- Overton Funeral Home. The family will receive guests at 605 Jefferson St. at all other times.

A celebration of life service will take place at noon on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at First Baptist Church Mahan, and he will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
