Commission announces grant funding

The Suffolk Fine Arts Commission has announced the availability of funds for its fiscal year 2015 grant program.

The purpose of the grant program is to increase community access to high-quality art, including but not limited to the visual and performing arts. The program is open to any organization or individual whose project promotes this purpose.

The commission will review all requests and determine the number and amount of grants to be awarded.

The submission deadline is Oct. 31. Applications should be sent to Tameka D. Williams, Suffolk Fine Arts Commission liaison, by mail at P.O. Box 1858, Suffolk, VA 23439 or in person at the East Suffolk Recreation Center, 134 S. Sixth St., no later than 5 p.m. on Oct. 31. Faxed or emailed applications will not be acceptable.

Application forms are available at the Suffolk Art Gallery, 118 Bosley Ave., Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. The application also can be downloaded from www.suffolkva.us/parks or requested by email from tdillard@suffolkva.us.
