For the fifth year, Mike Duman Auto Sales is offering discounts on adoption fees for people who adopt pets from Suffolk Animal Care Center.

The dealership will donate $25 of the cost to adopt pets from the center for up to 100 animals through Dec. 31. After completing their pet adoption, new pet parents can bring proof of the adoption to the dealership at 2300 Godwin Blvd. and will receive a check refunding them for $25 of the adoption fee.

The usual adoption fees are $75 for cats and $95 for dogs, which includes spaying or neutering and some shots. After the discount, a cat would be $50 and a dog would be $70.

“We have adopted wonderful pets from Suffolk Animal Care Center, and they mean the world to me and my family,” said Mike Duman, dealership owner, board member of Suffolk Humane Society and a city councilman. “I hope others who are considering adopting will take advantage of this special offer, give a pet a forever home for the holidays and give themselves the gift of a loving pet.”

An adopt-a-thon on Dec. 20, from noon to 3 p.m. at the North Suffolk PetSmart, 6243 College Drive, will be a convenient place to get a new furry friend for the discounted price. However, the discount is good for adoptions that occur at any time as long as they are from the Suffolk Animal Care Shelter, occur before the end of December and are one of the first 100 to redeem the discount.
