Cosie B. Lee

Cosie B. Lee, age 89, of Suffolk, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, in her home surrounded by great love and care.
Born Sept. 28, 1925, Cosie was the fifth sibling of nine children to the late Richard Robb and Nancy Hodge Boone. She was educated in Suffolk Public Schools and attended East Suffolk High School.
After graduation, she worked for a short time at Planters Peanut Company before moving to New York, where she developed a gift for making flowers.
Cosie returned to Virginia and married William T. Lee, the son of the Rev. J.O. Lee. She joined Tabernacle United Church of Christ, where accepted the Lord as her Savior and worked faithfully and tirelessly in the church for decades.
Cosie is survived by three sisters Sarah F. Benton (George), Earnestine B. Wood, and Arlie M. Boone, and one brother, James A. Boone, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be held on Monday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. at Tabernacle Christian Church in Suffolk. Pastor Ben Fitzgerald, eulogist, Bishop Carlton Upton, presiding prelate. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
