Obici site could house museum

To the editor:
The letters to the editor concerning the old Obici Hospital land have been very interesting.
Most writers are for a park or green space. We have a kiddie park and a dog park behind the nearby Farm Fresh. Now we need a family park with beautiful trees and hiking trails.
For a time, I was a docent at the old Seaboard Train Station. Out-of-town visitors would ask about our parks and our museums. We do have several small museums, but none that show our long and very interesting history.
Why not use the space on the north side of the Obici plot for a beautiful park and the Virginia Department of Transportation space on the south side for a large museum?
I graduated some years ago from the College of William and Mary. Besides academics, history drew me to Williamsburg. Wouldn’t it be great if history drew visitors to our city?
Organizing our history would surely organize our future.
As Winston Churchill stated, “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.”
