Dominion Virginia Power will have some power outages and street blockages during the weekend as they make an emergency transformer replacement in downtown Suffolk.

The work location is at the northwest corner of the intersection of Washington and North Main streets, according to a city press release. West Washington Street between North Main and Saratoga streets will be blocked Saturday night into Sunday morning, with traffic detours in place.

The power company will work with individuals that need access to the block, according to the press release.

Multiple outages from 10 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday also should be expected near the work area.
