Sheniqua K. Bynum, of Randstown, Md., has made the dean’s list for the fall semester at Virginia State University, Petersburg.

Her parents, Joyce Slaughter-Bynum and Lance Bynum, have also been informed that their daughter qualified for membership in the Virginia State University chapter of Golden Key International Honor Society. Each year the university identifies high achieving students in the top 15 percent of their class for entry into the society.

Bynum is the granddaughter of Lois and Charles Slaughter, of Bullock Street, and Evangeline Bynum, of Dutch Road. She is a rising junior majoring in veterinary medicine and hopes to own a veterinary clinic one day.
