An event this Saturday will raise money for one of the city’s biggest National Night Out celebrations while also providing a networking and shopping opportunity.
The Suffolk Business Expo will take place at Peanut Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“We are doing it as a fundraising activity to assist the Saratoga-Philadelphia Civic League in raising money for National Night Out,” said Anton Weaver, vice president of the civic league.
Vendors will include business people ranging from real estate agents and clothing distributors to artists selling handmade jewelry.
“We have about 40 vendors, and I can’t begin to name them all,” Weaver said. “We are still accepting vendor applications.”
In addition to vendors, a car show will take place featuring the Suffolk Corvette Club, which will bring more than a dozen of its own cars to show off.
A consignment event in which vendors can sell their items will also take place.
“We’re hoping for a great turnout,” he said. “I would expect no less than 500 people.”
Weaver said the civic league will decide how to support its National Night Out with the money. It will be used to purchase entertainment, food, giveaways, supplies or some other need, Weaver said.
