Father, son charged with more crimes

A father and son are charged with more crimes following further investigation by the Suffolk Police Department.

Jerry Michael Jenkins Sr., 46, and Jerry Michael Jenkins Jr., 25, were arrested Friday and charged with several crimes related to the breaking and entering into a shed at Sleepy Hole Park and the theft of lawn equipment and other tools.

They now are additionally charged with two counts of break and enter with intent to commit a felony, three counts of grand larceny, three counts of stolen property with intent to sell and three counts of conspiracy to commit a felony.

According to a city news release, the charges stem from the theft of a leaf blower from Suffolk Pawn and Gun on May 13; a residential breaking and entering on June 12 in the 5600 block of River Bluff Drive, where items stolen included various electronics, tools and firearms; and a residential breaking and entering on June 14 in the 5600 block of Canterbury Lane, where miscellaneous tools were stolen from a garage.
