The husband of a former city manager has been indicted on a charge of filing a false police report.

Keith Rodney Glenn allegedly reported a hit-and-run both to police and to his insurance company after he struck his own vehicle while driving a vehicle belonging to his wife, Selena Cuffee-Glenn, in front of their home on Kendal Way on April 30.

At the time, she had announced her acceptance of the city manager position in Richmond but was still city manager in Suffolk.

According to a search warrant filed in Suffolk Circuit Court, Glenn reported an unknown person fled the scene after hitting his 2009 Chevrolet HHR while it was parked in front of his residence.

However, a Suffolk police officer “located a witness that observed Mr. Glenn strike his own 2009 Chevy HHR prior to police arriving while operating gray 2010 Dodge registered to Glenn’s wife,” according to the search warrant. “Glenn was witnessed to have struck parked 2009 Chevy HHR, he then exited 2010 Dodge pick up and observed damage and then parked 2010 Dodge in front of his garage.”

The search warrant goes on to say that Glenn “stated he called police and reported a hit/run because he was ashamed” and that he “reported the hit/run to Geico because he didn’t know how to tell them he struck his own vehicle.”

The search warrant states that Glenn called Geico back and told them had had in fact struck his own vehicle.

His first court date has not yet been set.
