Darline C. Boone

On Friday, June 26, 2015, Darline C. Boone, 75, passed away at home with her loved ones surrounding her bedside.

Ms. Boone was born on Nov. 3, 1939, in Suffolk, to William A. and Nellie Anderson Cobb. She was educated in the Suffolk school system and graduated from Hampton University with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education.

An award-winning educator, she retired from an Isle of Wight elementary school, where she touched many lives.

Darline leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Chanda D. Boone. She is also survived by her brother, Frederick D. Cobb, a sister-in-law, Jean Cobb, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, William A. Cobb; mother, Nellie Cobb; sister, Mildred Stephens; and brothers, William C. Cobb and Alex L. Cobb

A celebration of life will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at 11 a.m. at East End Baptist Church in Suffolk. Viewing will be on Wednesday, July 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home and Thursday, July 2, at 10 a.m. at East End Baptist Church.  She will be laid to rest in the Mausoleum at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
