‘Saggy pants’ should incur fines

To the editor:
I agree with Mr. Albert Jones Jr. about the “saggy pants ” issue (“Pull up those saggy pants,” June 11).
I am also tired of seeing men’s underwear. The last time I checked, belts and suspenders were still available for sale.
On June 13, 2011, USA Today had a little piece in the section that covers news highlights from the individual states. I thought the one from Illinois was priceless and should be adopted across the USA.
ILLINOIS; Collinsville — The City Council voted 3-2 to ban saggy pants that ride lower than 3-4 inches below the waistline of the underwear. A first offense is a $100 fine. A second offense is a $300 fine plus 40 hours of community service.
Enough said.
