Tree limb knocks out power to more than 2,000

A power outage Wednesday morning knocked out power to more than 2,000 Dominion Virginia Power customers.

The outage was caused by a tree limb on a line near Portsmouth Boulevard and Old Jolliff Road in the Chesapeake Square area, according to Dominion spokeswoman Bonita Harris. About 2,345 customers lost power.

Crews were able to restore power to everyone by 12:19 p.m., Harris added.
