Local residents join Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets’ largest class since 1969

The following local residents completed New Cadet Week to join the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets’ largest class since 1969:

Ryan Greening, of Suffolk, who is majoring in physics.

David Formella, of Smithfield, who is majoring in environmental resources management.

Thomas Moskal, of Smithfield, who is majoring in psychology.

Jacob Wait, of Smithfield, who is majoring in building construction.

Adam Webb, of Smithfield, who is majoring in environmental resources management.

Formella, Greening, Moskal, Wait and Webb are five of 348 new cadets in the 1,090-strong Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, one of the nation’s six senior military colleges. The Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets has produced military, public and corporate leaders since the university was founded in 1872. It is one of just two military corps within a large public university. The corps holds its members to the highest standards of loyalty, honor, integrity, and self-discipline. In return, cadets achieve high academic success and a long-lasting camaraderie with fellow members.
