Cleveland Hunt Sr., 87, of 1012 Clarys Drive, Suffolk, transitioned Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, at his residence. He is a native of Southampton County and the son of the late William Hunt and Novella Scott.

Cleveland retired from the Naval Air Station after 35 ½ years of faithful and dedicated service. He was a member of New St. Matthews Holiness Church, where he served on the Ushers’ Board and was the Pastor’s Adjutant.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Gloria Hunt; three daughters, Helen Teresa Askew (Lonnie), Angelique Ramsey and Patricia Johnson (Curtis), all of Suffolk; three sons, Cleveland Hunt Jr., Timothy Hunt (Vickie) and Castle Hunt (Peggy), all of Suffolk; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Jean Worrell; very special friend, Curtis Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at St. Matthews Holiness Church. Pastor Jo L. Mason will deliver the eulogy. He will be laid to rest in Southview Cemetery in Franklin. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
