NR has stars at Va. Duals

The Nansemond River High School wrestling squad did not finish among the top teams at the 2016 Virginia Duals Black and Blue Division, but there were still some Warriors who distinguished themselves on the mat in Hampton last weekend.
Malcolm Dawson went 3-0, finding success in both the 113-pound and 120-pound weight classes:
120 – Dawson defeats Timothy Stallings (Osbourn Park High School) by a 9-4 decision
113 – Dawson pins Caleb Troup (Lafayette High School) in 1:59
113 – Dawson pins Elijah Jordan (Powhatan High School) in 4:59
Dia Gray went 2-0 in the 285-pound weight class, getting both victories by pin:
Gray pins Philip Pullen (Osbourn Park High School) in 1:24
Gray pins Noah Cotton (Lafayette High School) in 0:19
Five different Nansemond River wrestlers produced records of 2-1 at the Virginia Duals, including Malik Neely, who wrestled across two different weight classes:
160 – Neely defeats Brian Smithgall (Powhatan High School) by a 3-2 decision
160 – Shane Curtis (Osbourn Park High School) defeats Neely by a 13-2 major decision
152 – Neely pins Keven Ngiyen (Lafayette High School) in 3:01
Zechiariah Gray went 2-1 in the 170-pound weight class:
Gray defeats Ryan Davis (Lafayette High School) by a 5-3 decision
Gray pins Tommy Harrison (Osbourn Park High School) in 3:06
Hunter Honebein (Powhatan High School) pins Gray in 4:19
Keoni Broad achieved a 2-1 mark in the 182-pound weight class:
Nicholas Parsons (Osbourn Park High School) pins Broad in 2:00
Broad defeats Jacob Andrews (Powhatan High School) by a 9-5 decision
Broad pins Lorenzo McGilvary (Lafayette High School) in 3:47
Derrick Cannon went 2-1 in the 106-pound weight class, including a win due to forfeit:

McKale Williams went 2-1, including a win due to forfeit in the 120-pound weight class:
